Things are getting nasty for Cordelia and her sister Mer. Spells are reversing, charms no longer charming, and incantations leaving people in terrible strife. Their carefree world of witchcraft is coming to an end. Witchdom is soon to be embroiled in a terrible and utterly magic-shattering event. It's all getting very much out of hand.
Soon, the Ice Witches will rule; ruthless beings determined to have complete control. Only these two could prevent their dire scheme from taking hold. Unless they do, nothing will survive.
Death alone awaits those who oppose this evil.

Cordelia (12) and her sister Mer Merryspell (13), live with their separated mother, Hepsibah, their rather painful sister Myrtle (18), and their adored Gran, Daisy, in a cottage buried deep inside an ‘out of the way’ woodland.

It was there that Cordelia first became aware of this dire threat by reading a book by her favourite wizard Melchior Fizz entitled ‘Out-Witching Witchdom’, a book that miraculously appeared before her. It explains what has and is about to happen; and how to out-witch these beings. It’s a highly dangerous book to be found in possession of.

Cordelia tells Mer and Mer all their friends; the rumour spreads rapidly. But someone nasty intervenes to prevent them overcoming this evil. Kaldre along with her Five Witches of Gloom; a nearby coven, have other more direct plans to end the lives of these young witches.
